by harrison arubu5 although it is still a small number if you look at it but we are hoping we will get there one day he said1 ndume made the call when he appeared as a guest on the news agency of nigeria nan forum in abuja on sunday1 the lawmaker who represents borno south in the senate noted that in the interest of fairness equity and natural justice it was proper for someone from his constituency to be allowed to serve the state as governor1 it is feasible if there is an agreement and that is what i have been advocating for i am part of the advocacy for power rotation1 former leader of the senate ali ndume has renewed his call for borno south senatorial district to be allowed to produce the next governor of the state1 unfortunately it did not see the light of the day because the majority had their way. but we have started the struggle. it is not something that is realisable in a day1 ndume identified lack of unity and understanding among the minorities in the district as the major challenge undermining their aspiration1 he however said he had seen some improvement as the people of southern borno had become more united than before1 we are giving it a shot because out of the 23 or 24 contestants for the gubernatorial election we have about three or four people from southern borno this time around1 but let me say that when i was the senate leader i made sure that power rotation was included in the constitution amendment bill1

by harrison arubu5 in the light of the foregoing the commission may have no other option than to declare the former governor wanted okoduwa said1 indication to this was given by spokesperson of the commission mrs rasheedat okoduwa in a statement on thursday in abuja1 she said that jang was being investigated over alleged fraud involving about n5.6 billion but that he had continued to evade invitations to appear before the investigating team1 according to okoduwa the commission has been on the trail of the former governor now a senator since october 2017 when it opened investigation into alleged corruption-related activities during his tenure1 evidence before the icpc so far indicates that sen. jang allegedly committed the offences in march 20151 the independent corrupt practices and other related offences commission icpc said it may declare former governor of plateau sen. jonah jang wanted for refusing to honour its invitations1 she alleged that the former governor also illegally received n400 million of funds meant for plateau state universal basic education board subeb1 she added that jang also allegedly caused a former commissioner for finance in the state to illegally transfer n3.2 billion of subeb funds to the project account of the ministry of finance1 icpc has sent several invitations to jang through both the senate president and the clerk of the national assembly to come and clear his name but he has refused to honour the invitations1 also efforts to procure an arrest warrant from two different magistrates courts in the federal capital territory have been futile1 the magistrates declined to sign them even after the requisite sworn affidavit had been presented by the commission1 he allegedly received n2 billion in cash illegally out of the money which was allocated to micro small and medium enterprises msmes under the pretext of a loan to be spent on classified expenditure1

by harrison arubu5 a federal road safety corps frsc team on sunday morning rescued a pregnant woman from suspected kidnappers in badagry lagos1 the corps public education officer mr bisi kazeem said in a statement on sunday that the woman gave birth to a baby boy immediately after she was rescued1 at about 730 a.m. on sunday feb. 25 2018 a team from the badagry unit of frsc led by assistant route commander peace danboyi accosted a vehicle with registration number ktu 356 ce at ap filling station before aradagun bus stop in badagry lagos1 in the vehicle were two suspected kidnappers male and a pregnant woman who was their victim1 the pregnant woman who had body injuries was rescued to ola-oki hospital ibereko where she immediately gave birth to a baby boy he said1 kazeem said it took the prompt intervention of soldiers to rescue the suspects from a mob that had attempted to attack the suspected kidnappers1 the soldiers arrested and handed them over to the police in badagry while corps marshal of frsc dr boboye oyeyemi has expressed appreciation to the gallant officers and commended them for their bravery he said1 the statement also said that oyeyemi assured the public that his men would always be on roads to ensure safe traffic and security of lives by cooperating with other law enforcement agencies1
